Zenerit is a combined external drug with antimicrobial, comedolytic, and anti-inflammatory effects, used to treat acne.
Release form and composition
Zener is produced in the form of a powder for preparing a solution for external use, in bottles with an attached solvent and applicator.
1 bottle contains:
- Active substances: 1.2 g of erythromycin, 360 mg of micronized zinc acetate dihydrate;
- Auxiliary components: 7.81 g of diisopropyl sebacate, 17.1 g of ethanol.
1 ml of the prepared solution (colorless transparent liquid) contains:
- 40 mg of erythromycin;
- 12 mg micronized zinc dihydrate acetate;
- 0.55 g of ethanol;
- 0.25 g of diisopropyl sebacate.
Indications for use
Zener is prescribed for the treatment of acne.
The use of Zerin is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to:
- Erythromycin and other macrolides;
- Auxiliary components of the solution.
Dosing and Administration
Zenerite should be applied externally, applying it with a thin layer using the attached applicator 2 times a day on the affected skin:
- In the morning (before applying cosmetics and makeup);
- In the evening (after washing).
Approximate single dose - 0.5 ml. You can adjust the speed of applying the solution by applying pressure to the skin on the applicator. The drug leaves no residue and after drying it becomes invisible.
The duration of the treatment course is 10-12 weeks. Sometimes clinical improvement occurs within 14 days.
When using Zinerit, the development of local reactions may occur, manifested in the place of application of the drug in the form of:
- Burning sensations;
- Dry skin.
Typically, these reactions are mild, and the withdrawal of the drug or symptomatic treatment does not require.
Due to the peculiarities of topical use of Zinerit, an accidental overdose is unlikely.
During therapy, one should take into account the likelihood of cross-resistance to lincomycin, other macrolides, clindamycin.
Contact with eyes and mucous membranes of the nasal cavity and mouth should be avoided (burns or irritation may occur).
Analogues of Zinerit on the mechanism of action are: Klindatop, Erythromycin, Zerkalin, Indoksil, Klindovit, Dalatsin.
