Vulnuzan is an anti-inflammatory agent of natural origin, which also has an antimicrobial effect and improves tissue regeneration.
Release form and composition
Available Vulnuzan in the form of a homogeneous ointment from pale yellow to yellow with a specific smell, intended for external and local use.
1 gram of ointment contains:
- 120 mg of uterine liquor of the Pomorie Lake;
- The following excipients: anhydrous lanolin, carboxymethylcellulose (Tylosa C-30), castor oil, distilled water.
Implemented ointment Vulnuzan 45 g in aluminum tubes, packed in cardboard boxes.
Indications for use
Pharmacological properties Vulnuzana due to its composition. The main active component of the ointment is the treated mother liquor of the Pomorie Lake, which contains acids, colloids, alkalis and other substances of organic origin, as well as the following micro- and macroelements: selenium, bismuth, zinc, molybdenum, cobalt, sodium, iodine, bromine, calcium, potassium, copper, manganese, iron, chlorine, magnesium.
According to the instructions to Vulnuzan, the drug is intended for the treatment of:
- Purulent wounds of various origins, including surgical, infected, superficial purulent (including post-injection and pararectal abscesses), atherosclerotic and post-traumatic wounds;
- Trophic ulcers;
- Drug maceration of the skin;
- Varicose ulcers;
- Ulceration in Buerger’s Disease;
- Breast nipple cracks;
- Cervical erosion.
The use of Vulnuzana, according to the instructions, is contraindicated:
- Children up to 12 years;
- In case of hypersensitivity to any component;
- Pregnant women.
If prescribed by a doctor and if indicated, the drug may be used by women during lactation, breastfeeding is not necessary to stop.
Dosing and Administration
Ointment Vulnuzan layer thickness of 2-3 mm is applied to the entire wound surface and cover with a sterile dressing. For abscesses with a large cavity, the drug should be used in the amount of 10-15 g. At the beginning of treatment, the dressings with ointment should be changed daily, after the improvement of the wound surface condition - every other day.
The duration of treatment in each case is set individually, it is determined by the type of lesion, the severity of the inflammatory process and the speed of regeneration processes.
For cracked nipples, ointment should be applied several times a day after feeding the baby. However, before the next feeding the mammary glands must be washed with warm water using baby soap.
For cervical erosion, Vulnuzan is used as follows: ointment is applied to a cotton swab, which is inserted as deep as possible into the vagina once a day, optimally overnight. Duration of treatment is from 10 to 15 days.
Numerous patient reviews indicate that when applying Vulnuzan according to the scheme recommended by a doctor, there are no side effects in the vast majority of cases.
In the presence of hypersensitivity or intolerance to one or another component of Vulnuzan, allergic reactions are possible, manifested by a skin rash, urticaria, in some cases - angioedema.
When applying the ointment on ulcers may feel a burning sensation and pain.
The drug contains lanolin, which can cause skin reactions (for example, contact dermatitis). This should be considered for people who are hypersensitive to this substance.
Cases of overdose of this drug were not registered in medical practice.
If necessary, the ointment can be applied under the occlusive dressing.
During the application of Vulnuzana, it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
When applying means care should be taken that it does not fall on the mucous membranes, because may cause irritation.

Terms and conditions of storage
Vulnuzan is a drug approved for dispensing from pharmacies without a doctor's prescription. According to the manufacturer's recommendations, it should be stored in a darkened, dry place at room temperature (not higher than 25 ºС). Under these conditions, the shelf life of the ointment is 2 years.
