Vinpotropil - a drug that affects the blood and blood formation.
Release form and composition
Vinpotropil in the form of yellow capsules with a red lid, which are filled with white powder inside, are produced in blisters of 10 pieces. and plastic bottles of 15 and 50 pcs.
Each capsule contains 5 mg of vinpocetine, 400 mg of piracetam and excipients - calcium stearate and lactose.
Vinpotropil is also produced in the form of a concentrate intended for preparing a solution for infusion in 5 ml ampoules of dark glass.
One ml of the product contains 1 mg of vinpocetine and 80 mg of piracetam.
Indications for use
Vinpotropil is used in cases of Meniere's syndrome, cerebral circulatory insufficiency, brain injuries and other diseases of the central nervous system, accompanied by a decrease in intellectual-mnestic functions, asthenic and psychoorganic syndrome, labyrinthopathy and parkinsonism of vascular genesis.
The drug is used for the prevention of kinetosis and migraine, during intoxication, as well as in cases of weakening and disruption of brain activity.
Vinpotropil is contraindicated in children under 14 years of age, in the acute stage of hemorrhagic stroke, pregnancy, severe cardiac rhythm disturbances, severe hepatic and renal failure, severe ischemic heart disease, as well as in cases of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and during the period of thoracic feeding.
Dosing and Administration
The drug in the form of capsules is taken before ingestion by mouth of one or two pieces twice or three times a day.
Vinpotropil is not recommended to take after 6 pm or less than 3 hours before bedtime. The duration of therapy varies from two weeks to six months.
It is recommended to gradually reduce the dose of the drug before canceling Vinpotropil.
The solution is administered intravenously in drops of 2-3 diluted vials in a 0.9% sodium chloride solution once a day. The duration of therapy is 10-14 days, with the possible repetition of the course after 42-56 days.
With the improvement of the patients are transferred to the reception of the drug inside.
The instructions to Vinpotropil indicated that the drug in the form of capsules can cause anxiety, dizziness, agitation, sleep disturbance, dyspepsia, tachycardia, as well as:

- Increased sweating and body weight (metabolism);
- Depression, impaired sleep and balance, decreased ability to concentrate, motor disinhibition, dizziness and hallucinations, mental agitation, asthenia and confusion, exacerbation of the course of epilepsy, irritability, extrapyramidal disorders, headache and anxiety (central nervous system);
- Hyperemia of the skin, itching, dermatitis and urticaria (integuments);
- Vertigo (sense organs);
- Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, heartburn, gastralgia, abdominal pain and constipation (digestive system).
Symptoms of Vinpotropil overdose are diarrhea mixed with blood and abdominal pain. In such cases, hemodialysis and the appointment of symptomatic therapy.
With simultaneous use of Vinpotropil with anticonvulsants, the effectiveness of the second is weakened.
