Vagothyl is an anti-rotten remedy for topical use in gynecology, dermatology and phlebology. It has astringent, cauterizing and hemostatic effects.
Release form and composition
Make the solution Vagothyl transparent, with a reddish tinge, odorless. 1 g of the solution contains the active substance polycresin in the amount of 360 mg. Auxiliary component of the drug is demineralized water.

Indications for use
According to the instructions Vagothyl apply when:
- Candida and trichomonas vaginitis;
- Erosion of the cervix and vagina, including those caused by pressure pessaries;
- Topical treatment of difficult healing wounds, including trophic leg ulcers;
- Bleeding after removal of polyps, electrocoagulation of cervical erosion, diagnostic biopsy;
Vagothyl is also used for the purpose of hemostasis with minor dental and surgical interventions.
According to the instructions Vagothyl is contraindicated in
- Hypersensitivity to the active component of the drug;
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It is forbidden to use the drug during menstruation in the treatment of gynecological diseases.
During therapy with Vagothyl, it is not recommended to have sex and apply soapy solutions during hygiene procedures.
At use of Vagotila it is necessary to be careful in the presence of caries (during carrying out dental operations).
Dosing and Administration
During erosive processes of the cervix and vagina, a tampon soaked in with the preparation is applied to the lesion site for 1-3 minutes. Excess medication is removed with a dry swab. The procedure should be repeated 2-3 times a week. The duration of treatment should not exceed 10 days.
For burns, cracks of the mucous membrane, ulcers, as well as for douching the vagina, 10-15 ml of the drug is diluted in 1 liter of warm boiled water.
For hemostasis, a medication-soaked tampon is applied on the sore spot for 1-3 minutes.
The use of Vagotila patients is well tolerated, side effects do not occur. In rare cases, the occurrence of local allergic reactions in the form of skin rash, itching and redness of the vulva and vagina.
When using Vagothyl on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity may damage the tooth enamel.
Vagothyl is indicated for use strictly as prescribed by the attending physician. Do not combine the drug with other drugs intended for topical use.
When using the medicine in dentistry, avoid contact with the tooth enamel, and in case of contact with the teeth, rinse the mouth well with warm water.
In the presence of HIV infection in women using Vagothyl, the number of copies of HIV-1 RNA increases, which may contribute to the infection of the partner.
When combined with polycrescent drugs with alkaline action, an exothermic reaction occurs, leading to burn mucous membranes. Therefore, to combine these drugs is undesirable.
The drug should be handled with increased caution, as it is a strong acid.

Terms and conditions of storage
According to the instructions, Vagotil refers to the drugs on list B. The medicine should be stored in a dry, dark and inaccessible place for children. The shelf life of the drug is 3 years.
