Formic alcohol is a preparation for external use with irritant (distracting) and local anesthetic action.
Release form and composition
The drug is released in the form of a solution of 1.4% for external use (50 and 100 ml each in dark glass vials, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle).
The active substance is formic acid: in 1 g of solution - 14 mg.
Auxiliary substance - ethyl alcohol 70%.
Indications for use
Formic alcohol is used as an irritant to skin in the following diseases:
- Nonspecific poly-and monoarthritis;
- Neuralgia;
- Myalgia;
- Arthralgia;
- Myositis.
Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to formic acid.
Do not apply the drug to the affected skin, in violation of the integrity of the skin.
Dosing and Administration
Ant alcohol is applied externally. It should be rubbed into the skin in the area of pain 2-3 times a day.
Side effects
- Pruritus;
- Skin hyperemia;
- Allergic reactions.
