Mikoseptin is an external antifungal drug.
Release form and composition
Dosage form - ointment three-phase, suspension-emulsion type: oily, from white to white with a light yellowish tinge, with small fat grains, with a characteristic odor (30 g in aluminum tubes, in a cardboard bundle 1 tube).
Active ingredients in 1 g of ointment:
- Zinc salt of undecylenate acid - 200 mg;
- Undecylenic acid - 50 mg.
Auxiliary components: oleomacrogol (slovapol), lard monoglycerides (dimodan), methylparaben, stearic acid, liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, white wax, white petrolatum, purified water.
Indications for use
Mikoseptin is used for the prevention and treatment of skin fungal diseases caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to its active components.
- Children's age up to 2 years;
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or derivatives of undecylenate acid.
Dosing and Administration
Mikoseptin is intended for external use only.
The ointment should be applied 2 times a day on the previously cleaned and dried surface of the affected skin.
The duration of treatment is 4-6 weeks.
To prevent a relapse after the disappearance of the clinical manifestations of the disease, it is recommended to continue the use of the drug 1 time per day for 1 week, then 2 times per week or every other day for 1 month.
Mikoseptin is generally well tolerated. In some cases, there are hypersensitivity reactions, manifested by redness, swelling, burning sensation and itching of the skin, as well as a rash.
Mikoseptin can not be applied to open wounds, damaged surface of the skin and the periorbital zone.
When using do not allow ointment to get into eyes.
