Melaxen is a chemical analogue of the biogenic amine melatonin, synthesized from plant-derived amino acids; synthetic analogue of the hormone epiphysis; adaptogenic drug, normalizing circadian rhythms.
Release form and composition
The dosage form of Melaxen is coated tablets: round, biconvex, white or with a yellowish tint, on the one hand separating risk (12 pieces in blisters, 1 or 2 blisters in cardboard packs).
1 tablet contains:
- Active ingredient: melatonin - 3 mg;
- Auxiliary components: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate;
- Shell composition: isopropanol, talc and shellac.
Indications for use
Melaxen is used as a hypnotic for sleep disorders, as an adaptogen for biological rhythm disturbances due to changing time zones.

Dosing and Administration
Melaxen is intended for oral administration.
For sleep disorders, the drug is taken 1 time per day for 30-40 minutes before sleep, 1 / 2-1 tablet.
As an adaptogen, the agent should be taken 1 tablet 30-40 minutes before sleep, one day before the flight, and then for the next 2-5 days. If necessary, the daily dose may be increased, but not more than 2 tablets.

Drug interaction
Melaxen is not recommended to be taken during the period of treatment with hormonal agents.
Melatonin enhances the action of beta-blockers and drugs that have a depressant effect on the central nervous system.
Incompatible with cyclosporine, glucocorticosteroids and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
