Camphor oil is a drug with a local analgesic and irritant effect.
Release form and composition
The drug is produced in the form of a yellow transparent oily liquid with the smell of camphor (30 or 50 ml each in dark glass or plastic bottles).
The composition of camphor oil includes:
- Active substance: camphor - 10%;
- Auxiliary components: sunflower (refined), peach or olive oil - 90%.
Indications for use
Camphor oil is prescribed for arthralgia, sciatica, myalgia, radiculitis, as well as for the prevention of the development of bedsores.
- Violation of the integrity of the skin;
- Tendency to convulsive reactions.
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Camphor oil should be used with caution in children, and in lactating and pregnant women (after the doctor has evaluated the benefit / risk ratio for the health of the mother and child)
Dosing and Administration
Camphor oil is used externally, rubbing the affected area 2-3 times a day.
During therapy, in some cases, allergic manifestations may occur in the form of irritation of the skin and urticaria.
The drug is used only externally.
It is necessary to avoid getting Camphor oil in the eyes, open wounds and mucous membranes.
The interactions of Camphor Oil with other drugs used systemically or topically have not been identified.
