Flaxseed oil is a dietary supplement used as an additional source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Release form and composition
Linseed oil is available in the following dosage forms:
- Capsules of 300, 340, 600, 700, 750, 800, 1300, 1360 mg;
- Oily liquid (in bottles from 50 ml to 250 ml).
The composition of the drug includes biologically active components:
- Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids;
- Vitamin E.
Indications for use
Flaxseed oil is prescribed as an additional source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
- Pregnancy and lactation;
- Hypersensitivity to the components of supplements.
Dosing and Administration
Linseed oil is taken orally, it is preferable to do it during a meal.
The drug in the form of capsules for adults and children from 14 years of age is usually prescribed in a daily dose of up to 3000 mg (2 times a day for: 4 capsules 300 mg each, or 2 capsules 750 mg each, or 1 capsule 1360 mg)
In liquid form, flaxseed oil should be taken in 2000 mg (1/2 tsp) per day.
The duration of therapy is 1-2 months. If necessary, repeat the course.
