Lizobak is a local antiseptic preparation used in dentistry and otolaryngology.
Release form and composition
Lizobact is produced in the form of lozenges: round, white with a creamy or yellowish tinge or white, on one side there is a separation risk (in blisters 10 each, 3 blisters in a carton box).
The composition of 1 tablet contains the active substances:
- Lysozyme hydrochloride - 20 mg;
- Pyridoxine hydrochloride - 10 mg.
Auxiliary components: sodium saccharin - 0.5 mg; lactose monohydrate - 155.4 mg; vanillin - 0.1 mg; magnesium stearate - 4 mg; tragacanth gum - 10 mg.
Indications for use
Lizobact prescribed for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the gums, oral cavity and larynx:
- Catarrhal phenomena (inflammation of the mucous membrane) of the upper respiratory tract;
- Erosions of the oral mucosa, having a different etiology;
- Herpetic lesions of the oral mucosa (simultaneously with other drugs);
- Aphthous ulcerations.
- Glucose / galactose malabsorption syndrome or lactase deficiency, hereditary lactose intolerance;
- Age up to 3 years;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosing and Administration
Lizobact should be applied topically in the mouth. The tablets must be slowly, without chewing, dissolve, delaying the melted mass of the tablets in the mouth cavity as long as possible.
Children from 12 years old and adults are prescribed 3-4 times a day, 2 tablets, children of 7-12 years old - 4 times a day, 1 tablet, children of 3-7 years old - 3 times a day, 1 tablet.
The recommended duration of the therapeutic course is 8 days.
During the use of Lizobakt may develop allergic reactions.
If allergic reactions occur, Lizobact should be discontinued.
With the simultaneous use of Lizobact can weaken the activity of levodopa, enhance the therapeutic effect of antibiotic drugs (including chloramphenicol, penicillin, nitrofurantoin) and the action of diuretics.
The need for pyridoxine can be enhanced by immunosuppressants, isoniazid, oral contraceptives, estrogens, pyrazinamide, and penicillamine.
