Nettle leaves are a hemostatic agent of plant origin.
Release form and composition
The drug is available in the form of crushed vegetable raw materials, which is a mixture of leaf plates and, in rare cases, petioles (35, 50 or 100 g each in carton packs with an inner paper bag; 1.5 g each in filter bags, in a carton pack 10 or 20 packs).
Nettle leaves contain vitamins of groups B, C, K, flavonoids, carotenoids, salts of iron and silicon, chlorophyll and other biologically active substances.
Indications for use
- Physiologically abundant menstrual bleeding;
- Scattered bleeding in the post-coagulation period of treatment of cervical erosion.
Contraindications
Phytopreparation is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Bleeding with tumors;
- Bleeding for diseases requiring surgery;
- Increased blood clotting;
- Children's age up to 12 years;
- Pregnancy;
- Individual sensitivity.
With caution, the agent should be used for renal failure.
Dosing and Administration
From the leaves of nettle prepare a decoction. To do this, 4 filter bags are placed in an enamel or glass dish, pour 1 cup (200 ml) of boiling water, cover with a lid and infuse for 15 minutes, periodically pressing bags with a spoon. If used medicinal raw materials, 2 tbsp. pour 1 cup boiling water, close the lid and for 15 minutes, insist on boiling water bath.
Then the bags / raw materials are squeezed out, the volume of the infusion is adjusted to the original with boiled water.
Take the drug should be inside in the form of heat to 1 tbsp. 3-4 times a day for half an hour before meals. Immediately before taking the infusion should be shaken.
Side effects
Nettle leaves are generally well tolerated by the body, in some cases allergic reactions are possible. The probability of hypercoagulation is not excluded.
