Condilin is a medicinal product with a cauterizing and mummifying action.
Release form and composition
Condilina dosage form - 0.5% solution for external use (transparent, colorless), 3.5 ml each in dark glass bottles, in a cardboard box 1 bottle complete with 30 applicators.
The active ingredient of the drug is podophyllotoxin: in 1 ml - 5 mg.
Auxiliary components: ethanol - 735 mg, lactic acid - 51.67 mg, purified water - 30.6 mg, sodium lactate - 7.79 mg.
Indications for use
Condilin is used for the local treatment of genital warts (Condylomata acuminata).
- Children's age up to 12 years;
- Lactation period;
- The need for the use of other drugs containing podophyllotoxin;
- Hypersensitivity to the components.
Dosing and Administration
Condilin is intended for external use only.
To apply a plastic applicator must be moistened in a solution so that the hole of the loop is filled with liquid, then applied to the warts. Thus, all condylomas should be treated, but not more than 50 pcs. in one procedure, wait a little until they dry out well.
Condilin applied 2 times a day for 3 days. If necessary, courses are repeated with 4-day breaks. The total duration of treatment should not exceed 5 weeks.
Possible adverse reactions: slightly pronounced pain, redness, ulceration of the epithelial cover of the warts (usually 2-3 days of treatment).
If there are large condylomas in the preputial area, there is a possibility of edema and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the foreskin and glans penis).
In some cases, allergic reactions are noted.
In case of contact with the healthy areas of the skin and mucous membranes, severe irritation and expression may occur.
Condylin should be used with caution, especially when localizing condylomas in the region of the foreskin. Avoid contact with healthy skin and mucous membranes.
If the solution comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. In case of accidental ingestion of the drug, it is necessary to do a gastric lavage and consult a doctor. Such patients need to control the gas and electrolyte balance, the picture of peripheral blood and the functional state of the liver.
Before applying Condilina, the affected areas should be washed with soap and water and dried well.
Irritation and ulceration of the skin and mucous membranes around the warts can be prevented with the help of neutral creams, protective or zinc ointment, vaseline - they must be applied to the surrounding warts tissue before applying the drug.
With the development of edema and balanoposthitis, anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed (for example, a glucocorticosteroid in the form of an ointment).
When applying Condilin on a large surface area (more than 10 cm 2 ), reactions associated with the resorptive action of podophyllotoxin may develop.
During the period of treatment should be excluded sex or use barrier methods of contraception.
Treatment is recommended to pass both sexual partners.
Condilin has no negative effect on the reaction rate and ability to concentrate.
