Kolposeptin is a combined drug for topical use in gynecology.
Release form and composition
Kolposeptin is produced in the form of vaginal tablets (in blister packs of 6 pieces; 3 packs in a carton box).
The composition of 1 tablet contains the active substances:
- Promestrien - 10 mg;
- Chlorquinaldol - 200 mg.
Indications for use
- Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the vagina of bacterial etiology - exocervicitis, bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis (with the exception of infections caused by gonococci);
- Chronic recurrent infectious diseases of the vagina, caused by chlorhinaldol-sensitive flora (as a prophylactic agent).
Kolposeptin is also used to speed up the process of restoring the epithelial layer of the cervix after surgery for cervical erosion and in preparing the cervix before childbirth.
Contraindications
- Childhood;
- Estrogen dependent tumors;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
The drug is not recommended for patients who use spermicidal agents or latex condoms as a means of contraception. During the period of therapy, you should use other contraceptives or reject sex.
It is allowed to use Kolposeptina during pregnancy as prescribed by a doctor. The lactation period is not a contraindication to the use of the drug, but nursing women are advised to undergo therapy for a short period.
Dosing and Administration
Tablets are used intravaginally (by inserting as far as possible into the vagina) in a supine position with legs bent at the knees.
In the period of use of the drug is recommended to use sanitary pads. If the vagina is dry, the tablet should be moistened with water before administration. After the introduction of the drug should be in a horizontal position for at least 1 hour.
Therapy can be started on any day of the cycle, a break for the period of menstruation is not required.
The duration of treatment and the dose of Kolposeptina are determined by the doctor individually. Usually prescribed 1 tablet 1 time per day (in the evening).
In cases of severe forms of the disease or if you need a quick effect, you can use 2 tablets per day (morning and evening).
The duration of drug treatment usually varies between 14-18 days.
In preparing the cervix for childbirth prescribe 1 tablet per day. The average preparation course is 5-6 days.
Side effects
Application Kolposeptina can cause local allergic reactions, including feeling hot, flushing, itching and burning of the skin of the perineum and vaginal mucosa.
In isolated cases, the drug may cause metrorrhagia.

Drug interaction
Colposeptin with simultaneous use reduces the effectiveness of spermicidal agents. Drugs containing compounds of metals and iodine, reduce the pharmacological efficacy of chlorquinaldol.
During therapy, it is not recommended to use condoms as a means of contraception, since the auxiliary components contained in the tablets can reduce the strength of latex products.
