Kollomak is an external drug that has keratolytic, antiseptic and local anti-inflammatory effects.
Release form and composition
Collomac is available in the form of a solution for external use (in vials of 10 ml).
Active ingredients of the drug:
- Salicylic acid - 2 g;
- Lactic acid - 0.5 g;
- Polydocanol - 0.2 g
Auxiliary components: ethylcellulose, dibutyl phthalate and acetone.
- Corns and callus;
- Eczema, incl. seborrheic;
- Skin burns;
- Hyperkeratosis in psoriasis (including palmar and plantar);
- Genital warts;
- Increased sweating;
- Inflammatory and infectious skin lesions;
- Otitis (as part of combination therapy).
The drug is strictly contraindicated in the following cases:
- Children's age up to 1 year;
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or other salicylates.
With caution Kollomak used in chronic renal failure.
Dosing and Administration
The drug is intended for external use. It is applied to the affected areas 1 drop 1-2 times a day.
The maximum permissible daily doses (for salicylic acid): for adults - 2 g (10 ml of solution), for children - 0.2 g (1 ml of solution).
When plantar warts, calluses and calluses before applying Kollomak to enhance its effect, it is recommended to take warm foot baths.
The duration of the use of the drug in maximum daily doses should not exceed 7 days, in the treatment of cornflow - 3-4 days.
In some cases, treatment may be accompanied by the following undesirable effects: itching, burning, redness at the site of application. It is possible the development of skin allergic reactions.
Given the external method of use of the drug, overdose is impossible even when applying a large amount of solution. Only local reactions in the form of irritation are possible. In this case, the affected area should be washed with plenty of water.
Kollomak can be used during pregnancy, but only if applied to areas of limited size - no more than 5 cm 2 .
If necessary, treatment during lactation should avoid accidental contact of the infant with the treated surface.
Do not apply the solution to the mucous membranes (including the eyes), hairy warts, birthmarks, any warts located on the face and in the genital area. In case of contact with the product in the relevant areas, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
When treating children, it is not recommended to simultaneously treat several skin areas.
After each use, close the bottle tightly.
In case of accidental ingestion of Kollomak, you should rinse the oral cavity as soon as possible and consult a doctor.
Being a good conductor, salicylic acid increases the permeability of the skin to other drugs used externally.
Kollomac enhances the effect of sulfonylurea derivatives (oral hypoglycemic agents), side effects - methotrexate.
