Catalin - a drug with anti-cataract action.
Release form and composition
Catalin is produced in the form of tablets for the preparation of eye drops (from yellow to orange-red), 1 pc. in a blister; complete with solvent (colorless, transparent), in vials of 15 ml.
The composition of 1 tablet contains the active substance: pyrenoxin - 75 mg.
The solvent contains: an isotonic buffer solution with a content of 0.01% propyl parahydroxybenzoate and 0.02% methyl parahydroxybenzoate; as preservatives: sodium borate - 0.008%, boric acid - 1.2%.
After complete dissolution of the tablet, a clear, yellow to orange-red solution is formed.
Indications for use
Catalin is prescribed for the treatment of senile and diabetic cataracts.
The drug is contraindicated in the presence of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Dosing and Administration
Catalin is used conjunctivally.
The drug is diluted immediately before use, for which it is necessary to dissolve 1 tablet in 15 ml of solvent. Single dose - 1-2 drops, the multiplicity of use - 3-5 times a day.
After instillation of Catalina, blepharitis, superficial keratitis, itching or burning sensation, conjunctival redness may develop.
When instillation of Catalina, avoid contact with the pipette tip with an eye.
The simultaneous use with eye drops containing metal ions (zinc sulfate, collargol, silver solutions) is not recommended, since Catalin in their presence may change color.
Terms and conditions of storage
Store at room temperature, protected from light, out of reach of children.
Shelf life - 5 years.
The drug after dissolution can be used within 20 days.
