Karipazim is an external drug with a necrolytic effect, used in the treatment of burns.
Release form and composition
Karipazim is produced in the form of a lyophilisate for preparing a solution for external use (white with a slightly yellowish tinge or white), in 10 ml bottles.
The composition of 1 bottle contains the active substance - papain in the amount of 350 PE or 700 PE.
Indications for use
Karipazim is prescribed for the treatment of III degree burns (to accelerate the rejection of crusts covering the burn surface - scabs, and to cleanse from purulent-necrotic masses of granulating wounds).
- Pregnancy and lactation;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosing and Administration
Karipazim applied externally. Depending on the scab thickness, solutions of 35 PE / ml or 70 PE / ml are used.
Immediately before use, the contents of the vial should be diluted in 10 ml of a 0.9% solution of sodium chloride or 0.5% solution of novocaine.
At the same time you can handle no more than 30% of the total surface of the body.
The napkin moistened with the preparation should be applied on the burn surface, after which it is covered with a moisture-proof dressing. The dressing is changed 1 time per day or every other day, and before the next use of the drug, exfoliate necrotic tissue should be removed.
The duration of the treatment course is 4-12 days.
