Release form and composition
Calgel is produced in the form of a gel of a yellow-brown color with a characteristic odor (in aluminum tubes of 10 g each).
Active ingredients of the drug (in 1 g):
- Lidocaine hydrochloride - 3.3 mg;
- Cetylpyridinium chloride - 1 mg.
Auxiliary components: 70% sorbitol solution (non-crystallizable), xylitol, ethanol 96%, glycerol, gietellose, macrogol glyceryl hydroxystearate, laurromacrogol 600, macrogol 300, sodium saccharinate, levomentol, herbal flavor, caramel (150 g,), and 3 pts, 0104, 0.10 g, 0%. water.
Indications for use
Calgel is used to relieve pain caused by teething in children from 5 months of age.
- Renal / hepatic impairment;
- Violation of intraventricular conduction;
- Heart failure stage II-III;
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Dosing and Administration
Calgel is intended for topical use. It in a small amount (about 7.5 mm) is applied to the tip of a clean finger and gently rubbed into the inflamed areas of the gums. You can apply the gel every 20 minutes, but not more than 6 times a day.
In some cases, there is a violation of swallowing. In case of hypersensitivity, there is a chance of developing allergic reactions - urticaria, itching, anaphylactic shock.
In case of overdose, the following symptoms are noted: pallor of the skin, vomiting, bradycardia, apnea and depression of the respiratory center. If at least one of these signs appears, the drug should be discontinued and a doctor should be called.
Do not exceed the recommended dose, it should be borne in mind that the child can swallow a certain amount of gel during feeding or sleep.
If during the application of Calgel, signs of allergy appear, it is necessary to discontinue the drug and immediately consult a doctor.
The possibility of simultaneous use of any other drug should be checked with the pediatrician.
