Insulin Lente SPP is a drug with a hypoglycemic effect, used in the treatment of diabetes.
Release form and composition
Insulin Tape SPP is produced in the form of a suspension for injection: a neutral suspension containing 70% crystalline and 30% amorphous insulin of average duration of action (in vials of 10 ml).
The composition of 1 ml of suspension for injection includes active ingredients:
- Insulin (completely purified from the pancreas of pigs) - 40 IU;
- Zinc - 0.08 mg.
Indications for use
Insulin Lenta SPP is prescribed for the treatment of diabetes mellitus (especially in pregnant women, children, patients with lipodystrophy, insulin resistance and allergies).
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
The drug should be used with caution in pregnant women, elderly patients (over 65), patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency, Addison's disease, thyroid disorders, hypopituitarism, infections.
Dosing and Administration
Insulin Tape SPP should be administered subcutaneously. Shake well before use. Suspension should be administered immediately after filling the syringe.
The dose of the drug is determined by the doctor individually.
During therapy may develop hypoglycemia, manifested in the form of fatigue, feelings of hunger, tremor, as well as lipodystrophy and allergic reactions (from skin rashes to anaphylactic shock).
Repeated administration of Insulin Lenta SPP in the same place is not recommended.
With the development of symptoms of hypoglycemia, you need to take sugar.
With the simultaneous use of Insulin Lenta SPP with some drugs, it is possible to change its effect. These drugs include:
- Beta-adrenostimulators, alpha-blockers, strophanthin, oxytetracyclines, salicylates (the effect increases);
- Glucocorticoids, oral contraceptives (effect is reduced).
Combination with beta-blockers and alcohol can cause hypoglycemia.
