Infagel is an immunomodulatory agent with a broad spectrum of antiviral action (including herpes and influenza), which also has antitumor, anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic activity.
Release form and composition
Infagel dosage form - gel for external and local use (in tubes of 2, 3, 5 or 10 g; in glass bottles of 2 and 5 g).

Auxiliary components: purified water, polyvinyl alcohol, aluminum hydroxide.
Indications for use
Application Infagelya shown in the following cases:
- Prevention of SARS and flu;
- Primary forms of herpes infection;
- Cytomegalovirus infection;
- Herpes recurrences;
- Associated with the herpes virus stomatitis;
- Human papillomavirus infection;
In these cases, the drug is not prescribed:

- Hypersensitivity to interferons or components of the gel base.
With caution to use Infagel should be with a tendency to autoimmune pathologies.
Dosing and Administration
If signs of herpes infection appear on the skin, it is recommended to apply the gel 2 times a day with a thin layer, without rubbing it into the skin, leaving 10-15 minutes to form a protective film. The course of treatment averages 4 days, but if necessary, it can be continued until the regeneration of the affected skin begins.
For the prevention of viral infections during seasonal epidemics and / or after contact with a sick person, the mucous membranes of the nasal passages can be lubricated with gel 2 times a day.
Application Infagelya should be carried out with a sterile cotton swab.
In some cases, allergic reactions develop.
Due to the low systemic absorption of human recombinant interferon alfa-2b with its local application, overdose is almost impossible.
After applying the gel, a feeling of tightening of the skin may appear, but this sensation is not a side effect, but indicates the formation of a protective film on the surface of the lesion.
It should be borne in mind that the gel is applied in a thin layer, a large amount of the drug does not increase its effectiveness, but, on the contrary, disrupts the formation of a protective film.
If indicated, Infagel can be used during pregnancy.
Cosmetics and other drugs should not be applied simultaneously to the area of gel applications.
In the event of symptoms that may indicate hypersensitivity reactions, the agent should be discontinued.
Glucocorticosteroids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs reduce the effectiveness of interferon.
At simultaneous use the clearance of theophylline decreases and its plasma concentration increases.
Terms and conditions of storage
Store at a temperature of 0-10 ºС in a room with a humidity of 60-80%. If transportation is necessary, the gel can be transported only if the specified temperature conditions are observed.
Shelf life - 12 months.
