Imupret - herbal medicine with immunomodulatory, antiviral, expectorant and anti-inflammatory action.
Release form and composition
It is produced in the form of tablets (25 tablets in blisters, 2 blisters in carton packs) and oral drops (100 ml in dark plastic bottles, 1 bottle in carton packs).
The composition of 1 tablet contains active ingredients:
- 10 mg of horsetail grass;
- 8 mg of Althea roots;
- 4 mg herb yarrow;
- 6 mg of chamomile flowers;
- 4 mg of oak bark;
- 4 mg dandelion herb;
- 12 mg of walnut leaves.
Auxiliary substances that make up the tablets are: modified corn starch, talc, castor oil, glucose syrup, calcium carbonate, stearic acid, glycolic wax, potato starch, titanium dioxide, sucrose, glucose monohydrate, lactose, poly (1-vinyl -2-pyrrolidone) K25, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, corn starch, shellac, poly (1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) K30, indigotin.
The composition of 100 g of oral drops Imupret includes active ingredients:
- 0.2 g of oak bark;
- 0.4 g dandelion grass;
- 0.5 g of horsetail grass;
- 0.4 g of Althea roots;
- 0.3 g of chamomile flowers;
- 0.4 g of yarrow herb;
- 0.4 g of walnut leaves;
Included in the droplets of excipients: purified water, ethyl alcohol.
Indications for use
They are prescribed:
- For the treatment of pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis and other chronic and acute diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
- As an adjunct to antibiotic therapy for bacterial infections;
- For the prevention of complications of respiratory viral infections.
Imupret is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to active substances (plants of the family of complex flowers) and auxiliary components.
Pregnant women do not prescribe the drug.
Children Imupret can be taken with:
- 1 year - drops;
- 6 years old - pills.
Dosing and Administration
Imupret in drops are taken undiluted. It is recommended to hold the prescribed single dose before swallowing, in the mouth for a short time. For children, the drug can be added to water or beverages (juice, juice, tea). Shake the bottle with drops before use.
Unless the doctor has prescribed otherwise, Imupret is taken 5-6 times a day according to:
- 5 drops - children up to 1 year;
- 10 drops - children 2-5 years;
- 15 drops - children 6-11 years old;
- 25 drops - adults and children over 12 years old.
After improvement in order to prevent Imupret should be taken in the same single dose up to 3 times a day.
Tablets are recommended to be swallowed without chewing. Children 6-11 years old are usually prescribed 1 tablet each, adults and children 12 years old - 2 tablets each.
The multiplicity of Imupreta in the acute course of the disease - 5-6 times a day, after improvement, the drug can be taken 3 times a day.
The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the response to the therapy, age and indications. Possible long-term use of the drug. For the treatment of chronic diseases of the respiratory tract Imupret should take at least 1.5 months. After improvement, therapy is continued for a week.
During treatment, side effects develop only in isolated cases. Most often they appear as:
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, shortness of breath);
- Gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting).
The development of allergic reactions is possible while taking Imupret with herbal remedies containing chamomile flowers.
According to the indications Imupret can be taken simultaneously with other antimicrobial and antiviral drugs.
If within a week the symptoms of the disease do not go away, as well as if a purulent sputum, fever, shortness of breath, sputum with an admixture or uncharacteristic symptoms occur, it is recommended to consult a prescribing doctor for advice.
There is no information about Imupret’s direct effect on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms, but during the therapy it is necessary to take into account that ethanol is included in the drops.
