Gliatilin is a drug used to treat diseases of the nervous system.
Release form and composition
Gliatilin is released in the form of oval yellow gelatin capsules, which are filled with a viscous colorless solution inside, in blisters of 14 pcs.
Each of them contains 400 mg of choline alfoscerate and excipients - glycerol and purified water.
The capsule shell contains sodium ethylparahydroxybenzoate, gelatin, sorbitan, titanium dioxide, esitol, iron (III) metahydroxide, and propyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium.
Gliatilin is also released as a colorless, clear, odorless solution in colorless 4 ml glass ampoules.
The composition of one ampoule includes 1 g of choline alfoscerate, as well as an excipient - water for injection.
Indications for use
Gliatilin is used in the following cases:
- In cases of ischemic and hemorrhagic disorders of cerebral circulation;
- With multi-infarction dementia;
- In the acute period of traumatic brain injury (mainly with stem lesions);
- With changes in behavioral and emotional sphere, characterized by increased irritability, decreased interest and emotional lability;
- With senile pseudomelancholy.
Gliatilin is prescribed to patients with degenerative and involutional psychoorganic syndromes and the consequences of cerebrovascular insufficiency.
The use of Gliatilin is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to the components included in its composition. Also, the drug is not prescribed during pregnancy and during the breastfeeding period.
Dosing and Administration
Gliatilin capsules are ingested before meals. The drug in the form of a solution is administered intravenously or intramuscularly drip.
Dosage means in cases of acute conditions is 1 ampoule per day for intramuscular injection, or 1-3 pieces. per day with intravenous.
Before intravenous administration, the contents of one ampoule must be diluted in 50 ml of saline. The tool is injected at a rate of 60-80 drops in 1 minute.
The duration of therapy with Gliatilin is 10 days. If necessary, treatment can continue until the moment of appearance of positive dynamics and the possibility of transferring the patient to receive the drug in the form of capsules.
In cases of multi-infarction dementia, chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency and changes in behavioral and emotional sphere, the drug is prescribed in the form of capsules in 1 pc. three times a day. The duration of therapy in these cases varies within 3-6 months.
The instructions for Gliatilin indicate that the drug in rare cases causes nausea and allergic reactions.
Symptom drug overdose is nausea. When it appears, it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug.
The drug does not affect the patient's ability to drive motor vehicles or complex mechanisms.
