Givalex is a drug intended for the treatment of diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.
Release form and composition
Givalex is released in the form of a spray, in 50 ml spray bottles in the kit. 100 ml of the product contains 0.1 g of hexetidine, 0.5 g of choline salicylate, 0.25 g of chlorbutanol hemihydrate and such excipients as:
- Ethyl alcohol 58%;
- Propionic acid;
- Lemon flavoring complex;
- Purified water;
- Sodium saccharinate;
- Polysorbate 20.
Givalex is also produced in the form of a solution, in vials of 125 ml. The tool contains the same active and auxiliary substances that are part of the spray.
Indications for use
Givalex is used to treat infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx, caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, namely in the following cases:
- Acute and chronic tonsillitis;
Also, the drug is used in dentistry for postoperative care of the oral cavity.
The use of Givalx is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to the components included in its composition. The drug in the form of a solution is not prescribed to children under 6 years old, and the spray is not prescribed to children under 12 years old.
During pregnancy and during the breastfeeding period, the use of the drug is possible only if the expected effect of the therapy outweighs the possible risk to the child or the developing fetus.
Dosing and Administration
Givalex spray is used for irrigation of the oral cavity and pharynx. It is recommended not to eat food for 10 minutes after using the product. Dosage means and duration of therapy are determined by the doctor individually. Usually, adolescents and adults are prescribed 1 spray spray 4-6 times a day, children 12-15 years old - 1 spray twice or three times a day. The duration of therapy may be 5 days or more.
Givalex solution is used for rinsing the mouth. To obtain 1 dose of an agent, 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of the solution is poured into a measuring cup and mixed with 40 ml of 30-35 ° C water. It is important to prevent ingestion of the product and its contact with eyes. Children over 6 years old and adults are prescribed 2-4 gargles per day, applied at regular intervals. The duration of therapy is 5 days.
The instructions to Givalsex indicated that in some cases the remedy causes a change in taste, smell impairment and irritation of the oral mucosa. Allergic skin reactions may also occur when using the product.
With prolonged use of Givalex may develop superinfection.
Cases of overdose of the drug to date has not been registered.
If within 5 days of using Givalex the symptoms of the disease persist or the increased body temperature does not subside, it is recommended to consult a doctor for advice. It is important not to let the funds in the eyes, as it contains ethanol.
The drug can not be simultaneously used with other antiseptic drugs.

Terms and conditions of storage
The instructions to Givalsex indicated that the drug should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry, out of reach of children and protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
Medicines are dispensed from a pharmacy without a doctor's prescription; its shelf life is three years.
