Dosing and Administration
Ointment is applied with a thin layer (0.5-1 g) on the affected skin 1-3 times a day. You can apply the medicine to sterile gauze and cover it with skin, and bandage it over the top with a bandage.
The duration of treatment with hyoxysone is determined by the attending physician individually, depending on the type of skin lesion, degree and location. The maximum duration of therapy should not exceed two weeks.
If it is necessary to apply the ointment on the skin of the face, it is recommended not to apply it more than once a day. Apply the medicine should be a thin layer and only on damaged skin, and the duration of drug therapy should not exceed one week.
The use of hyoxyson in the vast majority of cases is well tolerated by patients. Subject to the recommended dosages, the drug does not cause side effects.
In rare cases, patients noted the appearance of skin rash, itching, irritation and other allergic reactions caused by hypersensitivity to the current or auxiliary components of the drug. If the patient has observed the occurrence of adverse events, it is recommended to discontinue the use of Hyoxysone and contact your doctor for the selection of analogue, which has the same pharmacological effect, but based on other components.
When applying the ointment on the skin of the face, the appearance of telangiectasias (small spots of red, bluish or pink color, filled with small blood vessels) and the development of atrophy of the subcutaneous tissue in the mouth area is possible.
With long-term use of the drug in high dosages (especially with the use of occlusive dressings, as well as in the armpits and groin), the development of systemic side effects inherent to glucocorticosteroids are not excluded:
- Increased nervous irritability;
- Gastrointestinal bleeding;
- Arterial hypertension;
- Thinning of the skin;
- Cushing's syndrome;
If an overdose occurs, it is recommended to discontinue ointment therapy and to treat symptomatically.
Before using Hyoxysone, the patient is recommended to carry out the sensitivity of the microflora that provoked the development of the disease, as long-term medication may cause the development of resistance of the pathogen to the active substance of Hyoxysone.
It is not recommended to apply the ointment on the vast surface of the skin, as well as children under occlusive dressings.
If it is necessary to apply the medicine on the face, the duration of therapy should be shortened as much as possible, since the probability of absorption of the active ingredients of the ointment and, consequently, the development of side effects is increased.
It is not recommended to apply the medication on the skin around the eyes, as this is fraught with the development of glaucoma or cataracts.
It is forbidden to carry out vaccination or to plan immunization during the treatment with Hyoxysone. This is due to the fact that the active ingredient of the drug has an immunosuppressive effect.
The use of ointment does not affect the management of potentially dangerous mechanisms that require high concentration of attention.
Structural analogues of hyoxyson are drugs Oxycort and Oxysone.
Analogues of drugs that have similar pharmacological effects are Oxycyclosol, Fucidin G, Pimafukort, Kortomitsetin.
Terms and conditions of storage
According to the instructions, Hyoxysone should be stored in a dry, dark place inaccessible to children, at a temperature regime up to 25ºС. The shelf life of the ointment is 3 years from the date of issue.
