Bishofit is a natural mineral used as a balneological remedy.
Release form and composition
Bischofite is produced in the form of a colorless translucent, saline solution that does not have a smell in glass or plastic bottles of 100, 250 and 450 ml each.
The product contains calcium sulfate, sodium chloride and magnesium bromide, carnallite, iron and bismuth, molybdenum, boron and aluminum, titanium, copper and silicon, barium, strontium and cobalt, rubidium, cesium and lithium.
They also produce Bishofit gel in 75 g of aluminum tubes. Each tube contains sodium bromide, potassium chloride, sodium and calcium, rubidium, magnesium chloride, lithium and copper, calcium sulfate, glycerin, purified water and calcium bicarbonate, vitamin PP, titanium, silicon and bromine, triethanolamine, magnesium, preservative and iodine , iron, gelling components and boron.
Indications for use
Bishofit is prescribed for the treatment of periodontitis, sinusitis, chronic tonsillitis, rhinitis, gingivitis and stomatitis. Also, the drug is prescribed in cases of dystrophic and inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems - rheumatoid arthritis, lumbago, deforming arthrosis and sciatica.
Bishofit use is contraindicated in pregnancy, violations of the integrity of the skin, in cases of hypersensitivity to the components of the product, as well as during breastfeeding.
With caution, the agent is prescribed to patients with elevated body temperature, skin diseases, circulatory failure, a history of cerebral blood circulation disorders, as well as exacerbation of chronic diseases of internal organs.
Dosing and Administration
The drug in the form of a solution used in the form of compresses. 3-5 minutes before starting the procedure, it is recommended to warm up the area to be affected by Bishofit - lower back, joint, etc. with a heater or a blue light lamp
Next, dilute the solution in water in a ratio of one to one (or undiluted) for 3-5 minutes. It is necessary to lightly rub into the affected area, after which a warming compress is put, consisting of gauze soaked in the product, covered with waxed paper. In most cases, such a compress is set before bedtime and left for the whole night. In the morning, after removing the compress, the skin is washed with warm water. The course of therapy with Bishofit consists of 10-12 procedures applied every other day.
Bishofit gel is applied externally several times a day, applying a means of light rubbing movements on the painful area. The imposition of a gauze compress for this form of release of the drug is not required. The duration of therapy varies within 10-14 days, with a possible repetition of the course in a month.
The instructions to Bishofit state that with daily use of the product allergic skin reactions and tissue irritation may occur.
Do not use Bishofit on damaged skin. Patients with impaired function of the cardiovascular system should use the drug in the minimum dose, a compress is used only for one joint and left for 6-7 hours.
During Bishofit use, precipitation of crystals may occur, which are able to settle on the skin and clothing, which makes the preparation inconvenient to use.

Terms and conditions of storage
Bishofit, according to the instructions, should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated, inaccessible to children and light room, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
The drug is released from pharmacies without a doctor's prescription, its shelf life is five years. After the expiration date of the drug must be disposed of.
