Biovestin - a drug used to treat dysbacteriosis.
Release form and composition
Biovestin is produced in the form of a beige emulsion, in 23 and 50 ml glass vials. One vial contains 109 CFU / ml of Bifidobacterium adolescentis, as well as products of the metabolism of bifidobacteria and bifidogenic factors.
Indications for use
The instructions for Biovestin indicate that the drug is prescribed to normalize the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as to prevent the development of dysbacteriosis when taking antibacterial agents.
The use of Biovestin is contraindicated in cases of intolerance to milk protein and with individual intolerance to the components of the product.
Dosing and Administration
The drug is used orally for half an hour before, or after one hour after a meal, with warm milk or water. The dosage of Biovestin depends on the age of the patient, namely:
- Children up to 12 months prescribed 1 ml per day;
- The dose for children aged from one to six years is calculated on the basis of the proportion - 1 ml of Biovestin for one year of life per day;
- Children from six to twelve take 6 ml per day;
- For children from 12 years of age and adults, the daily dose is 12 ml.
The duration of therapy in cases of prevention of intestinal dysbiosis is 28 days, with a possible repetition of the course 3-4 times a year, with correction of intestinal dysbiosis, ranging from 28 days to 3-4 months.
The instructions for Biovestin do not indicate any possible side effects from therapy with the agent.
Before using Biovestin, the bottle with the contents must be heated to room temperature.

Terms and conditions of storage
The drug, according to the instructions, should be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature ranging from 6 to 8 ° C for 75 days. An open bottle should also be stored in the refrigerator and used for two days.
The drug is released from pharmacies without a doctor's prescription. After the expiration date Biovestin must be disposed of.
