Biotredin is a drug that stimulates the metabolism and energy supply of tissues.
Release form and composition
Make sublingual tablets Biotredin containing the following active ingredients:
- 5 mg pyridoxine;
- 100 mg of L-threonine.
Auxiliary components of the drug are citric acid monohydrate, magnesium stearate, low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone.
In blister packs of 30 tablets.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Biotredin is shown:
- In childhood, adolescence and adulthood with a reduced ability to concentrate and mental performance;
- With alcohol abuse, updating the pathological craving for alcohol in the case of chronic alcoholism, accompanied by symptoms such as internal discomfort, bad mood, irritability;
- With alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
According to the instructions, Biotredin is contraindicated in the following cases:
- State of intoxication;
- Hypersensitivity to pyridoxine;
- Combination with drugs that depress the central nervous system (antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics).
Dosing and Administration
Biotredin is prescribed sublingually (under the tongue).
As a means of stimulating mental activity and increasing concentration of attention, the drug is prescribed 1 tablet 2-3 times a day for 3-10 days. If necessary, the drug can be taken in courses of 3-4 times a year.
In chronic alcoholism and alcohol abuse Biotredin is prescribed 1-3 tablets per reception 2-3 times a day for 5 days. It is allowed to use Biotredin courses up to 5-10 times a year.
When treating alcohol withdrawal syndrome, Biotredin is prescribed in a dose of 1-4 tablets 3-4 times on the first day, 1-2 tablets 2-3 times on the second day and for 26-28 days. If necessary, the duration of treatment can be reduced to 10-14 days.
In case of remission, Biotredin in a dose of 2-3 tablets on an empty stomach is prescribed to determine the latent craving for alcohol. If after 10–20 minutes the patient has symptoms such as facial flushing, mild dizziness, sweating, this indicates the presence of hidden traction. In this case, it is recommended to take a 5-10 day course of Biotredin, 1-2 tablets per day in combination with Glycine 100 mg, which is taken 15 minutes before taking Biotredin.
The use of Biotredin can cause such side effects as:
- Increased sweating;
- Allergic reactions due to hypersensitivity to pyridoxine.
Biotredin should not be taken during the period of alcohol intoxication, as this reduces the effectiveness of the drug.
The drug is incompatible with barbiturates, anxiolytics, antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs.
During pregnancy and lactation, it is not recommended to take Biotredin, with the exception of strict indications.
