Belosalik is a drug for external use, providing keratolytic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Release form and composition
The drug Belosalik is made in two dosage forms:
- Topical solution containing betamethasone 500 mcg and salicylic acid 20 mg. Auxiliary substances are disodium edetate, sodium hydroxide, hypromellose 4000 cP, water, isopropanol. In bottles of 20, 50 or 100 ml;
- Topical ointment with 30 mg salicylic acid and 500 mcg betamethasone. Auxiliary components of the ointment are petrolatum and mineral oil. In aluminum tubes for 20, 30, 40 g.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Belosalik is indicated for chronic and subacute dermatoses, which are affected by glucocorticosteroids, accompanied by desquamation and hyperkeratosis:
- Seborrheic dermatitis;
- Lichen planus;
- Dyshidrosis of the skin.
According to the instructions, Belosalik contraindicated in the following cases:
- Open wounds;
- Skin reactions to vaccination;
- Viral skin infections;
- Acne vulgaris;
- Trophic ulcers;
- Children age up to six months;
- Hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components of the drug.
Dosing and Administration
Belosalik in the form of a solution is used externally. A few drops of medicine are evenly distributed on the affected skin, rubbing slightly. The recommended frequency of use Belosalik - twice a day. In mild cases of disease, one application of the solution per day is sufficient.
The average duration of solution therapy is 0.5-1 months. If there is a need for more prolonged use of the medicine, it is recommended to apply it on the skin every other day.
Belosalik in the form of a solution can be applied from six months, however, for children of such an early age it is recommended to use the agent for a minimum period and with great care.
Ointment Belosalik also intended for local use. Apply the drug in a thin layer on the affected skin, gently rubbing, twice in essence. The duration of therapy is 0.5-1 month. If you need a longer use, it is recommended to apply the medicine on the skin every other day.
After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to apply the drug on the skin for some time in order to avoid relapses.
The use of Belosalik is mainly positively tolerated by patients. Side effects are reversible and are mild. The most common side effects are dermatological reactions:
- Hypersensitivity (itching, burning, hyperemia);
- Skin hypopigmentation;
- Skin atrophy;
- Secondary skin infections;
- Acne-like changes.
In the case of uncontrolled long-term use of the drug, systemic manifestations of the side effects of salicylates or glucocorticosteroids, telangiectasia are possible.
In the case of the development of hypersensitivity reactions, it is recommended to discontinue therapy with Belosalik and to contact your doctor for selection of alternative treatment.
Do not apply the drug to the mucous membranes, eyes and anal and genital orifices. The use of Belosalik under an occlusive dressing is also not recommended, except for the recommendation of a doctor for this.
If bacterial or fungal microflora develops on the skin, it is recommended to prescribe an additional antifungal and antibacterial drugs to the patient.
The preparation Belosalik in the form of a solution is convenient for use on the scalp, as it is easy to distribute it over the surface of the skin, it does not overdry and does not glue the hair, leaves no noticeable marks and has a pleasant cooling effect.
Belosalik should not be used on the face for a long time, as the development of perioral dermatitis, rosacea, acne or skin atrophy is not excluded.
It is recommended to use the drug with particular caution in children, as they have a risk of increased systemic absorption of betamethasone and salicylic acid due to the prevalence of skin over weight and the immature epidermis.
It is forbidden to use Belosalik in children under occlusive dressings and plasticized diapers, as this may increase the likelihood and severity of side effects.
Prolonged and uncontrolled use of the drug in children is fraught with the development of secondary adrenal insufficiency, Itsenko-Cushing syndrome, hypercorticism.
No significant drug interactions of Belosalik were recorded. However, it is not recommended to combine the drug with dermatological and cosmetic products containing medical soap with a pronounced drying effect, ethanol, as this can cause irritating skin reactions.
During pregnancy, Blosalik may be used, but only according to strict indications and taking into account all the risks to the fetus. In this case, the drug should be applied as little as possible for a long time and limited to small areas of skin.
During breastfeeding, the use of the drug is allowed if there are strict indications. It should be borne in mind that before feeding it is contraindicated to apply the drug on the skin of the mammary glands.
