Alpine Astra is a perennial herb belonging to the Astra family, which has an expectorant, anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating and antipyretic effect.
The composition of the Alpine aster has not been studied to the end, but it is reliably known that this plant contains:
- In the underground part there are polyacetylene compounds, organic acids and coumarins;
- In the aerial parts there are flavonoids, which include rutin, isorhamnetin, quercetin, as well as saponins, alkaloids and ascorbic acid.
- It has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties;
- Positive effect on the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract;
- It is a powerful mucolytic;
- It has an immunomodulatory effect;
- Effectively eliminates infectious diseases.

Homemade medicines from alpine asters
In chronic bronchitis, traditional medicine recommends the use of a remedy prepared according to this recipe: 2 tsp. crushed flowers and leaves of aster pour 250 ml of boiling water, infuse for one hour, strain and take 1 tbsp. four times a day.
To cure furunculosis, dermatitis and other skin inflammation will help such a tool: 2 tbsp. dried grass pour 500 ml of cold water, bring to a boil, boil for 3 minutes and let it brew. The resulting decoction can be used as lotions and taken orally, 100 ml three times a day before meals.
For dry cough, apply this tool: 3 tbsp. crushed aster rhizomes pour 600 ml of boiling water, boil over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Take a decoction inside 150 ml three times a day.
As an antipyretic aster alpine take in this form: 2 tbsp. powdered all parts of the plant pour 400 ml of boiling water, boil for 30 minutes in a water bath, cool, strain and take 100 ml four times a day.
To rinse the throat with sore throat and as lotions for eye diseases, use a preparation prepared according to the following recipe: 1 tbsp. raw materials pour 1 stack. boiling water, boil for 3-4 minutes, insist for one hour and strain. Also, this broth can be taken inside - 1 tbsp. three times a day.
For colds, proctitis and hemorrhoids, this remedy will help: pour 8 grams of crushed rhizomes with 1 cup of water, boil for 5 minutes, insist for 2 hours. Pretreatment, take 1/2 cup three times a day.
For problems with the gastrointestinal tract, the use of alpine asters in the form of this infusion is recommended: 1 tbsp. raw materials pour 200 ml of boiling water, leave for 40 minutes to infuse, take 1 tbsp. three times in essence before meals.
