Antral is a drug belonging to the group of hepatoprotective drugs.
Release form and composition
Antral is available in the form of coated tablets, packaged in blisters of 10 tablets each, one carton pack contains three blisters. Each tablet contains 100 or 200 mg of the active ingredient antral, as well as auxiliary components: potato starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium carbonate, povidone, crospovidone, calcium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide.
Indications for use
Antral is an effective remedy for acute and chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. The drug improves the functional state of the liver, reduces the harmful effects of toxins on it and stimulates the recovery of cells. The use of Antral normalizes the level of gamma globulins and bilirubin in the body, stabilizes cholesterol levels and has an antioxidant effect on the entire body. Antral has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral effect, improves appetite and sleep, has a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. The use of Antral does not adversely affect the immune system of the body and is a safe hepatoprotective drug.
The use of Antral is indicated for hepatitis of various genesis (viral, alcoholic, drug, toxic), liver cirrhosis, fatty degeneration, inflammatory processes of the gallbladder, pancreas and spleen. Antral is also prescribed for the treatment of posthepatitis cirrhosis, for prophylaxis with various negative effects on the liver: during radiation or chemotherapy, with prolonged use of drugs, with the influence of toxins. The drug is most effective in the fight against hepatitis A, B, and E.
According to the instructions to Antral, contraindications to use are: children under four years of age, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, impaired renal excretory function. Dosing and Administration
According to the instructions to Antral, the drug should be taken half an hour after meals three times a day, drinking plenty of water. Adults and children over ten years old are prescribed 2 mg of the drug at a time. Children from four to ten years old - 1 mg three times a day.
For the treatment of cirrhosis of the liver during the first week, it is necessary to take a double dosage - 4 mg of Antral at a time, from the second week the dosage is halved. The course of taking the drug is about 1 month. After a month, the treatment can be repeated.
The use of Antral, as a rule, passes without side effects even with long-term treatment. In rare cases, side effects from the gastrointestinal tract (nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, abdominal pain), as well as dizziness, allergic reactions, swelling, skin rashes, itching and weakness are possible. All symptoms disappear immediately after discontinuation of the drug. With an overdose in a patient, all the side effects increase. In this case, you must stop taking the drug and carry out gastric lavage, possibly symptomatic treatment.
It is not recommended to drive the vehicle during the treatment period with Antral due to possible vertigo. Simultaneous therapy with drugs for detoxification of the body, vitamin complexes, antibacterial and choleretic drugs is allowed.
