Analgin is an antipyretic analgesic that has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. It is a derivative of pyrazolone.

The drug is available in the form of tablets, powder, suppositories and solution in ampoules. Metamizole sodium (analgin) is used as an active ingredient.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Analgin is used for pain syndrome of various origins (neuralgia, myalgia, biliary and renal colic, burns, injuries, after surgery, dental and headache, menalgia), as well as for fever caused by infectious and inflammatory diseases.
The use of Analgin is contraindicated in blood diseases, marked impaired renal and / or liver function, patient hypersensitivity to pyrazolone derivatives, and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
Dosing and Administration
Inside or rectally, adult patients are prescribed 250-500 mg 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 3 g, single - 1 g. Intravenously or intramuscularly Analgin is administered slowly, 250-500 mg 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 2 g, single - 1 g.
According to the instructions to Analgin, the use of the drug can cause the following undesirable effects:
- On the part of the hematopoietic system (with prolonged use) - agranulocytosis, leukopenia;
- Allergic reactions - angioedema, skin rash, anaphylactic shock;
- Local reactions - infiltrates at the injection site with intramuscular injection.

The drug is used with caution in children under three months of age.
Simultaneous use of the drug with other non-narcotic analgesics may enhance toxic effects. Tranquilizers and sedatives are able to enhance the analgesic effect of Analgin.
