Allergodil refers to the antiallergic drugs of local action.
Release form and composition
There are two forms of drug release: nasal spray and eye drops.
Spray volume of 10 ml is packaged in bottles of dark glass, equipped with a metering device.
6 ml eye drops are located in plastic bottles with a dispenser.
The main active ingredient of both forms is azelastine hydrochloride. One ml drops its content reaches 0.5 mg. In one bottle spray Allergodil - 0.01 g.
Other components of nasal drops:
- Hypromelase in the amount of 10 mg;
- Water for injection - no more than 10 ml;
- Sorbitol 70% - 666.66 mg;
- Benzalkonium chloride - 1.25 mg;
- Edetate disodium - 5 mg.
The following substances were added to the Allergodil spray dose:
- Hypromelase in the amount of 0.01 g;
- Purified water - no more than 10 ml;
- Dihydrate edetate disodium - 0.005 g;
- Sodium dodecahydrate hydrogen phosphate - 0.0648 g;
- Anhydrous citric acid - 0,00438 g
Indications for use Allergodila
Apply nasal spray is recommended for:
- Rhinoconjunctivitis and seasonal year-round allergic rhinitis, including hay fever;
- Symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis, which include nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, post-nasal syndrome.
The use of Allergodil in the form of drops is advisable as the prevention and treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis and in the treatment of non-seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Nasal spray is not recommended as a therapeutic agent for allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis in children less than 6 years of age, as well as for the treatment of vasomotor rhinitis in children under 12 years of age.
Drops should not be prescribed to children under 4 years of age.
Before use, you should eliminate the presence of hypersensitivity to azelastine or another component of Allergodil.
Dosage and administration Allergodil
Dosage and drug treatment regimen depends on the form of release.
According to Allergodil's instructions, in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis, adults and children over 6 years of age are administered 140 mcg (1 dose of the drug as a spray) in each nostril in the morning and evening. If necessary, people over 12 years of age are given 2 doses of medication. Allergodil is used until all disturbing symptoms of the disease disappear, but not longer than six months of continuous treatment.
Therapy for vasomotor rhinitis in adults and children over 12 years of age is carried out by administering 2 doses of medication (280 mcg) into each nostril in the morning and evening. The drug is used until the cessation of symptoms of the disease, however, no more than 8 weeks.
In seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, children over 4 years of age and adults are given 1 drop of Allergodil in each eye in the morning and evening. Allowed to increase the frequency of admission up to 4 times a day.
For year-round allergic conjunctivitis, children over 12 years old and adults are recommended to dig in 1 drop in the morning and evening in each eye. It is also allowed to increase the frequency of reception up to 4 times per day.
Side effects Allergodila
Against the background of nasal spray, there may be a burning sensation in the nose, sneezing, nasal bleeding, itching, which corresponds to signs of irritation of the nasal mucosa. In rare cases, allergies can occur in the form of pruritus, rash, and urticaria. The occurrence of weakness, dizziness is extremely rare.
Side effects caused by taking Allergodil drops:
- Discoloration of the conjunctival membrane, increased eye sensitivity, irritation, redness, swelling, soreness of the eyes, increased tearing, blepharitis, dry eyelids;
- Dry skin, dysgeusia, dyspnea.
The instructions for Allergodil in the form of a spray indicate the ability of the drug to cause fatigue and weakness, which may adversely affect the ability to manage complex mechanisms, including the car. These phenomena are exacerbated by drinking alcohol.
During the use of Allergodil in the form of drops, you should refuse to wear contact lenses.
Allergodil drops can be used as an element of complex therapy in the treatment of infectious eye diseases only on the recommendation of the attending physician.

Terms and conditions of storage
The instructions for Allergodil in the form of a spray indicate that the drug is stored for no more than 3 years from the date of issue, at a temperature of 8 to 25 ° C. It should be borne in mind that the opened spray bottle should be used within six months.
Eye drops are stored no more than 3 years at room temperature. From the moment the package is opened, the drops should be used within 4 weeks.
