Aldecine is a glucocorticosteroid intended for topical use.
Release form and composition
Make a spray nasal Aldecin in the form of a white suspension without any inclusions.
1 dose contains 50 µg of the active substance, beclomethasone dipropionate.
Auxiliary substances of the drug are: glycerol, citric acid monohydrate, purified water, sodium citrate dihydrate, dispersed cellulose, benzalkonium chloride, polysorbate 80.
In plastic bottles of 8.5 g (200 doses).
Indications for use Aldetsin
According to the instructions, Aldecin is indicated for patients with:
- Vasomotor rhinitis;
- Allergic rhinitis (year-round or seasonal).
In combination with other drugs, Aldecin is prescribed for nasal polyposis.
According to the instructions, Aldecin is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Respiratory tuberculosis;
- Hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components of the drug;
- Hemorrhagic diathesis;
- After nasal injury or surgery;
- Systemic infections (viral, fungal, bacterial);
- Regular nasal bleeding;
- Children under 6 years of age (due to the lack of clinical data on the safety and efficacy of Aldecin for this age group).
In the use of Aldecin, caution should be exercised in patients with severe renal insufficiency, recent myocardial infarction, amebiasis, hypothyroidism, nasal septum, arterial hypertension.
In pregnancy and lactation, the use of Aldecin is allowed, but only if there are strict indications for it, when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus or child.
It is recommended to examine newborns whose mothers were treated with Aldecin or other glucocorticosteroids during pregnancy for possible impairment of the adrenal cortex.
Dosage and Administration Aldecin
According to the instructions, Aldecin is intended for intranasal use - in the form of inhalation.
The recommended dose for children 6-11 years of age is 1-2 inhalations in each nostril twice a day. Adolescents from 12 years old and adults should take 1-2 inhalations in each nostril up to 4 times a day, depending on the severity of the symptoms.
The maximum dosage per day should not exceed 8 inhalations in children aged 6-11 years, and 16 inhalations in adult patients and adolescents from 12 years.
Upon reaching the therapeutic effect of the drug should be canceled, gradually reducing the dose.
Before using the medicine bottle, press the dispensing device 6-7 times. After such a "calibration" should be established stereotypical flow of the drug. If Aldecine is not used for 2 weeks or more, then “calibration” should be carried out again before the next use.
Before each inhalation, the nasal passages should be released and the vial should be vigorously shaken. Insert the applicator into the nostril, keeping it upright - in the direction of the inner corner of the eye. The second nostril should be closed, pressing your finger, and slightly tilt your head forward. It is not recommended to spray the spray directly on the nasal septum.
Press the spray dispenser and at the same time take a deep breath, then exhale through the mouth. In the second nostril inhalation is done in a similar way.
To obtain the recommended dosage of 100 µg, two inhalations should be given in each nostril.
Side Effects of Aldecin
The use of Aldecin can cause the following adverse reactions:
- Allergies: itching, urticaria, reddening of the skin, angioedema;
- Infections of the nasopharynx caused by fungal flora;
- Dry nose;
- Nose bleed;
- Increased eye pressure;
- Irritation and burning sensation in the mucous membrane of the nose;
- Nausea, diarrhea;
- Impaired sense of smell;
- Disturbed appetite;
- Difficulty breathing;
- Arterial hypertension;
With the use of Aldecin and other glucocorticosteroids in higher dosages over a long period of time, nasal septum perforation may develop.
Mostly side effects occur when the patient uses the drug in high doses or has increased sensitivity to Aldecin or other glucocorticosteroids. In the event of side effects, it is recommended to cancel the medication, reducing the dosage gradually.
Do not pierce the nozzle of the bottle with a wire or needle.
It is necessary to protect the eyes from the ingress of medication.
Unlike local vasoconstrictor drugs for rhinitis, the therapeutic effect of Aldecin is not immediately apparent. Relieving the symptoms of rhinitis usually becomes noticeable several days after the start of treatment.
Patients who have decreased immunity while using Aldecin, should be warned of the danger of contact with certain types of infections (measles, chicken pox, etc.). If the contact is made, you should consult a doctor.
Since Aldecine slows down the healing of wounds, it is not recommended to apply it in the postoperative period or in case of injuries of the nose until complete healing of wounds.
Efficacy of aldecin is reduced by rifampicin, phenytoin, phenobarbital, and other inducers of microsomal oxidation.
Enhance the effect of Aldecin estrogens, methandrostenolone, theophylline, beta2-adrenostimulyatory and oral GCS.
