Albarel is an antihypertensive drug.
Release form and composition
Albarel tablets are made round, biconvex, white.
One tablet contains 1 mg of the active ingredient - rilmenidine.
Auxiliary substances of Albarel are: sodium carboxymethyl starch, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, beeswax white, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, talc, lactose, paraffin wax.
10, 20 or 30 tablets per pack.
Indications for use Albarrela
According to the instructions Albarel is indicated for hypertension.
According to the instructions, Albarel is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Severe renal failure (CC less than 15 ml per minute);
- Severe depression;
- Hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components of the drug.
Do not prescribe Albarel during pregnancy and lactation, as there are no clinical data on its use in this group of patients.
The appointment of Albarel to children under the age of 18 is not recommended, as its effectiveness and safety for this age group has not been established.
Administration method and dosage Alberel
Albarel tablets are intended for oral administration.
The recommended dosage for adult patients is 1 mg per day (1 tablet). It is advisable to take the medicine in the morning.
If, after one month of using Albarel, blood pressure does not decrease, the dosage may be increased to 2 tablets per day (1 tablet in the morning, 2 in the evening with meals).
In renal failure, mild to moderate severity, dosage adjustment of Alberel is not required.

Side effects of albarel
The use of Albarel can cause the following side effects from various systems of vital activity of the organism.
- Central nervous system: insomnia, apathy, increased fatigue during exercise, depression, anxiety, seizures;
- Digestive system: dry mouth, epigastric pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea;
- Cardiovascular system: palpitations, orthostatic hypotension, cooling of the extremities;
- Skin reactions: skin rash, itching;
- Others: hot flashes, peripheral edema, sexual dysfunction.
Patients noted that the side effects of Albarel rarely develop and are mostly transient in nature.
According to the instructions, Albarel should be prescribed to patients after a myocardial infarction or stroke is recommended only under close medical supervision.
Since Albarel is well tolerated by patients, it can be prescribed to elderly people and patients with diabetes.
It is not recommended to abruptly stop treatment with Albarel. If necessary, stop the treatment should gradually reduce the dosage.
Albarel should not be prescribed in combination with MAO inhibitors.
In combination with tricyclic antidepressants, albarel's antihypertensive effect is reduced. The effect of medications is enhanced by diuretics, vasodilators, and antihistamine drugs.
It is not recommended to take alcohol during the use of Albarrela.
In therapeutic dosages, the use of Albarel does not affect psychomotor reactions. If the medication is prescribed in higher dosages or in combination with drugs that have a depressant effect on the central nervous system, then patients should be careful to operate dangerous mechanisms, since the appearance of drowsiness is not excluded.
In the case of an overdose of Albarrela, the following symptoms may appear: mental disorders, severe arterial hypotension. In these cases, it is recommended to do a gastric lavage and conduct symptomatic therapy.
