Afobazole - a drug intended for the treatment of diseases of the nervous system.
Release form and composition
Afobazol is produced in the form of flat-cylindrical white with a facet tablets, in blisters of 20 pcs.
Each tablet contains 5 or 10 mg of morpholinoethylthioethoxybenzimidazole dihydrochloride and excipients - lactose, magnesium stearate, potato starch, povidone and microcrystalline cellulose.
Indications for use
In accordance with the instructions, Afobazol is prescribed for the treatment of anxiety, namely:
- Adjustment disorders;
- Dermatological diseases;
- Generalized anxiety disorders;
- Oncological diseases.
The drug is used to relieve withdrawal symptoms in patients who refuse to smoke, as well as in cases of neurocirculatory dystonia, premenstrual and alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
The use of Afobazole is contraindicated in patients younger than 18 years of age, during pregnancy, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as during the lactation period.
Dosing and Administration
The drug is taken orally after a meal. A single dose of the drug is 10 mg, daily - 30 mg, divided into three doses. The duration of treatment with Afobazol varies between 14-28 days.
According to indications, the daily dose of the drug can be doubled, and the duration of therapy is extended to three months.
