Acesol is a combined salt preparation intended for the normalization of water and electrolyte balance during dehydration and intoxication of the body.
Release form and composition
Make a solution for infusions Acesol. 1 l of the drug contains the following active ingredients:
- 2 g of sodium acetate trihydrate;
- 5 g of sodium chloride;
- 1 g of potassium chloride.
In bottles for blood and blood substitutes 200 or 400 ml.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Acesol is shown when:
- Intoxication of the body, including food poisoning, dysentery, cholera El Tor;
- Dehydration.
Contraindications
According to the instructions, Acesol is not prescribed for the following conditions of the body:
- Alkalosis;
- Increased potassium content;
- Chronic renal failure;
- Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug;

Dosing and Administration
Acesol is administered intravenously in a stream or drip. With the introduction of the drug should be monitored laboratory parameters.
As a rule, during the first hour the solution is injected in a jet at a dosage determined on the basis of the patient's body weight (7-10%). After this treatment is continued by drip intravenous administration of the drug for 1-2 days. The rate of injection is 40-120 drops per minute.
Before the introduction of the solution should be heated to the optimum temperature for treatment - 36-38 ° C.
The volume of the injected solution is determined on the basis of the patient’s lost volume of fluid, together with feces, vomit, urine and sweat.
The balance of the fluid lost due to intoxication or dehydration and the injected solution must be adjusted every 6 hours.
Side effects
Depending on laboratory parameters of the patient and the course of the disease, the use of Acesol may cause the following side effects:
- Tachycardia;
- Chills;
- Edema;
- Increased levels of potassium in the blood.
If during treatment the patient has hyperkalemia, it is recommended to replace Acesol solution with Disol solution until the electrolyte balance is fully restored.

Application Acesol should be carried out under the control of the level of electrolytes and hematocrit in the blood.
Allowed to freeze the drug, but only if the integrity of the package.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is allowed, but only in cases where the intended benefits to the mother outweigh the possible risk to the health of the fetus or child. Clinical trials of the use of Acesol during pregnancy was not conducted.
There are no data on the significant drug interactions of Acesol. The question of joint use of the drug with other drugs is decided individually by the attending physician.
